The MLB Playoffs, Part 3, Phillies vs. Braves Game 2

Playoff Bracket

Game two of all the Division Series has ended! In those, the Rangers beat the Orioles 11-8, the Twins got revenge on the Astros 6-2, the Diamondbacks beat the Dodgers 4-2, and the Braves came back to win 5-4 over the Phillies. If you watched those games, you know I am going to talk about the Braves. Through six innings, the score was 4-0 Phillies, and it seemed like it would be another shutout, but when Travis D’Arnaud stepped up in the seventh with two runners on base, he hit a home run into the left field seats making the score 4-3. This is when the rally began. In the eighth inning, after Ronald Acuña Jr. was hit by pitch, Austin Riley stepped up and on a 3-2 pitch, he smacked one to the Phillies bullpen with two outs to put the Braves ahead 5-4. In the top of the ninth, with one out, and Bryce Harper on first, Nick Castellanos hit a bomb to deep right-center and Harper took off thinking it was a home run. But Michael Harris II made an amazing catch at the wall to get the second out. Harper had already rounded second when Harris made the catch and started running back to first as Harris threw it in. It skidded past second baseman Ozzie Albies and it seemed like Harper was going to be safe. But, Riley was right behind him and launched a missile to first, completing the first double play involving an outfielder in postseason history.(ESPN, 2023) Keep following this blog for updates on the playoffs!
