The MLB Playoffs, Part 1

The playoffs have started! What are the playoffs? Well, every year, after the regular season, 12 lucky teams, 6 in the American League and 6 in the National League, are assigned an opponent. 8 of those teams face off in a Wild Card series, which is a best of three series. Those winners move on to face another team in a League Division series, which is a best of five series. Those winners move on to a League Championship series, which is a best of seven series. Finally, the remaining two teams move on to the World Series, which is also a best of seven series. Whoever wins that is the champion! If that was confusing, please look at the picture attached. This year, the twelve teams are the Rays, the Rangers, the Twins, the Blue Jays, the Phillies, the Marlins, the Brewers, the Diamondbacks, the Orioles, the Astros, the Braves and the Dodgers with the first eight being the Wild Card teams. So far, the Rays have defeated the Rangers in two games, the Twins have defeated the Blue Jays in two games, the Phillies have defeated the Marlins in two games, and the Brewers have defeated the Diamondbacks in two games. That’s clean sweeps across the board! Next, the Orioles are facing the Rangers, the Twins are facing the Astros, the Braves are facing the Phillies, and the Diamondbacks are facing the Dodgers. Well that’s all for now. Keep following my blog for updates on the playoffs!
